WEAA Lecture Series

WEAA Lecture Series

A quarterly program, WEAA’s Lecture Series centers around a range of issues of importance to the community, from music to sports to arts and culture.

Recent programs in the series include a conversation on women in jazz in March 2013 at the Eubie Blake Cultural Center for Women’s History Month, moderated by Maysa; a panel discussion at Creative Alliance in June 2013 entitled “The Music and the Movement” in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the many civil rights milestones of 1963; and a discussion following a screening of the film The Girls in the Band at the Reginald F. Lewis Museum. In addition to being informative, these programs help deepen WEAA’s relationship with Baltimore’s cultural organizations. The discussion is generally broadcast in a special program afterward.
