Washington's Metro subway system will operate on a modified and reduced schedule following an accident that killed one passenger and sent dozens to hospitals with smoke inhalation. The fatality on board the train yesterday was the first on the Metrorail system since a crash between two trains in 2009 that killed eight passengers and a train operator.

Bishop Charged in Bicyclist Death

Episcopal Church Bishop Heather Cook faces several charges in connection to the deadly hit-and-run in Baltimore of bicyclist Thomas Palermo just after Christmas. Cook is being held in the Baltimore City Detention Center accused of hitting Palermo and leaving the accident scene.  Officials say she was texting and veered into the bike lane, hitting Palermo from behind. Charges against her include vehicular homicide and DUI.

Ravens Officials Respond to Mueller Report

Both the Baltimore Ravens and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell are reacting to the release of the Mueller Report on the league's handling of the Ray Rice domestic violence case. Ravens President Dick Cass notes the gravity of the incident and says the team looks forward to cooperating with the league on any new policies dealing with domestic violence. Goodell said the league accepts the findings and recommendations associated with the report.

An Episcopal bishop is being charged in connection with a bicyclist's death in North Baltimore. Newly sworn-in city State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby announced the charges this morning against Bishop Heather Cook. They include vehicular manslaughter, leaving the scene of a deadly accident, DUI, and texting while driving. Thomas Palermo died nearly two weeks ago after he was struck while riding his bicycle in a bike lane on Roland Avenue by a car that initially left the scene, but later returned. Mosby says a warrant has been issued for Cook’s arrest.
