Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh is defending the clandestine removal of Confederate statues in the city last night as the right decision to keep her city safe. At a news conference Wednesday, Pugh said the city charter states if the mayor feels she needs to protect the public she has the right to keep the community safe.  


The CEO and founder of Baltimore-based Under Armour, is stepping down from President Trump's manufacturing council. 


Baltimore City Councilman Brandon Scott plans to introduce legislation calling for the destruction of all Confederate-era monuments in the city. 


UPDATE:  The 32-year-old woman killed when a car drove into a crowd of counter-protesters Saturday, has been identified as Heather Hyer of Charlottesville, who worked as a paralegal. According to friends/family on Facebook, her last post was, "If you are not outraged you are not paying attention."   


Baltimore police are investigating an early morning shooting that shut down a section of York Road in both directions during the morning rush.
