Jazz Appreciation Month

In honor of the centennial celebration of her life, WEAA will present "Ella All Day Long" on Tuesday, April 25th. Tune in to hear your favorite Ella Fitzgerald tunes as well as artist inspired by her artistry. "Ella All Day Long" here on WEAA-FM.

It is more than fitting that we honor and celebrate “the First Lady of Song” Ella Jane Fitzgerald in April, the month of her birth and also the month designated as “Jazz Appreciation Month” in 2001 by the Smithsonian’s National Museum of History.

April is Jazz Appreciation Month. Tune in to WEAA all month long to hear artist profiles who are “Living the Jazz Life” as they share stories surrounding surreal experiences in their career.

The National Museum of American History has declared that this year that they are exploring jazz itself as a form of democracy, a form of communication, and as an equalizer.
