In The Tradition (Jazz)

Mondays, 8 p.m.-midnight

In the Tradition, which airs Monday evenings from 8 p.m. to midnight, pays homage to all the influential jazz music that host Doc Manning grew up with in the late 1950s and ’60s, as well as current musicians. A key part of the program is sharing the music of Baltimore’s own current talent with his listening audience. On-air interviews and conversations with guest artists create an environment not unlike a living room setting. The show’s title is a nod to Amiri Baraka’s poem entitled “In the Tradition.”
