What does jazz mean to you?

April is Jazz Appreciation Month: our chance to herald and celebrate the extraordinary heritage and history of jazz music.

The National Museum of American History has declared that this year that they are exploring jazz itself as a form of democracy, a form of communication, and as an equalizer.

What does jazz mean to YOU? We want to know.

Drop us a line. Write down your thoughts or send a 15 second recording yourself on a cell phone voice memo app to weaa.web@gmail.com, telling us what "Jazz Is..." in your mind. You'll have a chance to be featured on the radio alongside great jazz artists.

Some sample submissions to get you inspired:

“Hi this is James Red and Jazz Is Miles Davis doing a Kind Of Blue on warm spring afternoon! That’s what Jazz Is to me”.

“This is Eric Jones and Jazz Is the true authentic representation of America’s music.”
