WEAA's Julius White has the local news.

Mayor Catherine Pugh was in Annapolis yesterday. Pugh was there to ask state lawmakers to return control of school board selections to City Hall. She urged them to end the current appointment system, which is shared with the governor. Baltimore City has not been allowed to choose its own school board members since 1997, when it surrendered control to secure additional state funding. And, Howard County has overturned a ban on tasers and stun guns. A federal lawsuit was filed in January by a domestic violence survivor who argued the devices were needed for self defense.
