Baltimore County police officer to be laid to rest today

Baltimore County Police Officer Amy Caprio

Funeral services today for Officer Amy Caprio who was killed in the line of duty Monday while investigating a report of a suspicious vehicle in Perry Hall. Prosecutors say 16 year old Dawnta Harris is accused of running over Caprio in a stolen Jeep Wrangler. 

The funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. at Mountain Christian Church in Joppa.  She will be laid to rest alongside other Maryland first responders who died in the line of duty at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens. Drivers should prepare for some traffic delays in Harford and Baltimore counties.  The procession will begin around 11:30 a.m.  Drivers along the route from the church to Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens in Timonium are being told to expect road closures and delays.  Drivers traveling east on Mountain Road to interstate 95 south, south on i-95 to i-695 west, west on i-695 to i-83 north, north on i-83 to exit 17 and east onto Padonia road are told to expect delays and closures.
