After a spike of violence during the month of April, the Mother's Day/Baltimore Ceasefire weekend saw a relative lull. City police reported two men were shot in separate incidents.
Detective Jeremy Silbert said in a statement, at approximately 11:00 p.m. Friday, officers were called to the 900 block of Bennett Place for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they were unable to find a shooting victim. A short time later, a 22-year old man arrived at an area hospital with a gunshot wound to his stomach. Investigators believe the victim was in the 900 block of Bennett Place when he was shot.
Meanwhile, officers were on patrol around 5:15 Saturday evening when they heard gunshots coming from the 400 block of E. Patapsco Avenue. A short time later, a 22-year old man arrived at an area hospital with a gunshot wound to his stomach. Investigators believe the victim was involved in an argument before he was shot.
Detectives from the Citywide Shooting Unit are investigating this incident and are asking anyone with information about either case to contact the Baltimore Police Department or Metro CrimeStoppers Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7Lockup.
